WHAT IS ETHICAL FASHION ?

Focusing on morality, Ethical fashion is all about zero cruelty. Neither environment, nor People. Its a fair trade but not only limited to that because its much more than that.

I went to a store called,"ETHIC ATTIC" for research on ethical fashion.

THEIR RECENT COLLECTION
The collection
showcases accents of Ikat weaving, hand block printing
and hand weaving by skilled craftsmen; it is a collection
that reflects modern essence using traditional fabrics. We
have tried to bring a balanced fashion with focus on
sustainability and panache.

The goal is to develop design conscious products using the
traditional crafts and handloom skills, which are
comfortable, ethical and fashionable to wear. The collection
is contemporary with traditional fabrics hand loomed by
Indian weavers and craftsmen. The silhouettes are for the
modern women who is always on the move yet not
forgetting to be fashionable and being ethically responsible
by making use of their power of choice to be the agent of

THEIR GOAL

The goal is to be a one stop place for design conscious products that are sustainable and made with least negative impact on the ecology. They have an array of products that are environment friendly, sustainable and plastic alternatives that enable a zero waste lifestyle.

MY EXPERIENCE

First of all, the store is located at Ashok Nagar, that is in the very heart of the city. And probably the best store to start one's entry to sustainable world. They also have the best host in town to advice you on sustainable living. The products are affordable too. The store's layout was not so big, as its inside a
co-working space called WeWork.

My entry was welcoming, and I could see how minimalist the interior of the shop was. All I could see was white walls with white shelves in them holding the pretty garments and footwears that were looking so attractive and was calling me to come and buy them. I went out thinking Il'd only see garments but after reachine, there was more to it than that.

There were accessories, personal care, lifestyle, stationary, home, books and even food. Everything was
kept neatly in groups (eR. Garments with patterns were kept in a different place than those that are simple) and the layout of the store was divided in such a way that it makes the visitor to roam around the store freely and find things easily. Some of the materials used to create these wonderful fabrics are: Soft Cotton, Hand Woven Cotton, Kalamkari Fabrics, Hakoba Fabric, Organic Cotton, etc. So, the price ranges vary accordingly. It may go from 1k to 3.5k. And are dyed with the technique of block printing and Ikat.
